Creative Arts Annual Report
The Arc Southwest Indiana Creative Arts Center serves 29 individuals from our residential and waiver departments, individuals who live in the community with family or friends and clients from ResCare.
We offer many different programming options in our Creative Arts Center that help meet the goals / needs of the people we serve including habilitation and work services training. We have a painting room, computer lab, sewing stations, drawing stations and a recreational room. The recreational room offer many options for fun and exercise, including a miniature golf course made by staff and consumers, pool table, corn hole boards, basketball goal, three-wheeled bikes from a TMMI grant, a Wii and a karaoke machine and stage to sing on. Staff hold trainings on rules and good sportsmanship and address social skills in this area.
Creative Arts Spotlight
Heather joined us in May 2021 and resides in our supported living program. Heather enjoys earning a wage and spends some of her time on staff as a janitorial aid. When she isn’t working is very involved in the daily projects offered, coming up with new ideas for the group. Heather loves to make and sell her creations including paintings and wreaths.
In her free time, Heather enjoys going to the movies, visiting with family and friends and is active in our Self Advocacy chapter. Heather is very friendly and always willing to help others.
